Calling All Female Credit Union Leaders: Apply for a Scholarship & Grant Today
According to a recent report by the Filene Research Institute and World Council, women are noticeably missing from top executive seats in the global credit union industry. This leadership gap precludes credit unions from fully realizing their potential by excluding the distinctive vision that women bring to transformative outcomes.
The Global Women's Leadership Network attempts to close these leadership gaps and increase women's access to financial services worldwide. The Network's programming — including its annual scholarship program — provides credit union women with the tangible skills, tools and resources they need to lead; and offers actionable steps for organizations to follow.
World Council encourages emerging female credit union leaders to apply for a Network scholarship to participate in technical assistance and capacity-building opportunities. Scholarship winners receive complimentary membership to the Network, and participate in the 2016 World Credit Union Conference and Network Forum. Recipients also have a chance to receive an Empowerment Grant to bring increased access to loans, credit and financial education to women in their community.
