As part of our mission to empower women worldwide, the Network provides an annual scholarship to female leaders within the credit union industry to provide opportunities for professional development, networking and diversifying skill sets to make an impact.
Successful candidates receive
GWLN scholarship winners receive:
- Complimentary one-year membership to the Global Women’s Leadership Network
- Complimentary registration to the World Credit Union Conference (WCUC) in The Bahamas
- An all-expense paid trip to attend the World Credit Union Conference in the Bahamas
At WCUC, scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to participate in all GWLN events including the Networking Reception, the Annual Forum, the Diversity and Inclusion Conference Track and Luncheon, International Sister Society meeting and other educational sessions to promote professional development throughout the conference week.
The GWLN Networking Reception features special guests, exciting announcements, and presentation of the annual Athena Award at WCUC. The reception welcomes supporters and GWLN members as we celebrate the Network's global impact to advance women, diversity, and improve lives.
The Annual Forum connects credit union leaders from all over the globe. Focusing on professional development, participants engage in interactive dialogue sessions, expand their knowledge and grow business relationships. Featuring keynote speakers and roundtable discussions, attendees walk away with personal action plans, new skills and professional resources.
The Diversity and Inclusion luncheon kicks off the D&I conference track at WCUC. It takes place jointly with the World Council Young Credit Union Professionals (WYCUP) and is dedicated to advancing women and young leaders worldwide and focuses on growing professional development skills, expanding business relationships, and increasing leadership knowledge.
Breakout sessions on diversity, equity and inclusion and growing young leadership talent will be available throughout the conference week.
Since 2009, Global Women has awarded 57 scholarships to women from 23 countries. Scholarships are made possible through funding from annual membership donations and sponsorships, including the generous support of CUNA Mutual Group, CU Direct, Burns-Fazzi, BFB Gallagher, PSCU and the Susan Adams Scholarship Fund, which was established in honor of former Entrust Financial Credit Union CEO Susan Adams supported by OneAZ Credit Union.
